The truth is, Oka is right. There is no other option. Every year since the outbreak started its gotten worse. More sickness, more death. The planet is dying and after Yaer’s death, it’s only a matter of time before we suffer the same fate as him.

“We should evacuate with the seeds as soon as possible.” Oka says. “Wasting any more time is putting our species survival at more risk.” Isic, hasn’t said a word, he hasn’t even moved in the past four hours. “Isic?” I call out.

His head doesn’t move but his eyes quickly cut to me . “Are you okay?” I ask him. The answer to the question is apparent and again makes me appear oblivious, but I had to say something to put life back into him.

“I’m Fine” he says.

I’m actually wishing Isic and I spoke more outside of the pensive,  just so I can tell if this is him being hyper focused or terrified. He and I are the closest in age but we never agree on anything. Even his affirmations felt like it was just out of spite.
